Voting Booth is Open

Okay all...
As the wedding planning continues we have another decision to make that I just don't want to make without wise opinions. I have picked out two veils, although they are still fairly similar, that you guys can choose from. They will be ivory color for sure but the other details can change, ie length, adornments, etc.
Let me know what you think!

Wedding Shoes

Here are two shoes Jeff and I picked out this weekend for me to wear at our wedding. What is ya'lls vote?

I also wanted to post some pictures of a recent trip from July. Our dear friends Christa and her husband Jamie came to spend a long weekend with Jeff and I. We had the best time together. We went tubing down the river, tried to make some southern fried chicken, watched fireworks, and Christa and I were able to do a little wedding planning together. I told her I would post up some pics so here goes! Thanks for a wonderful time. We can't wait to do it again!

Engagement Photos

Hi All!
Wow it has been a long time since I have posted a blog. That is what happens though when you are working like a crazy woman and trying to plan a wedding! I have had some requests to post all of our engagement photos so here goes my attempt. We had a great time that day and were really pleased with our photos. Erin, who did the photography, is so creative and made some great memories for us.

Photography

So this weekend Jeff and I are having our engagement photos done. His coworker and friend, Erin, is doing them for us and we are very excited. Check out her blog at www.purewonderphotography.blogspot.com. Jeff wants to wear his cowboy hat and "bling" cowboy belt but I am not so sure on that. I told him for just a few pictures that would be fine. Jeff says he is from Texas though and that is what Texans look like! We shall see about who wins this one!!
We also have found our wedding photography. His name is Kevin and he was referred from another friend, Erin, the same friend who is helping Jeff and I with some wedding details. Check out his website at kevingarnerphotography.com. He does not have any of his wedding photography up yet but he will soon. We are very excited to have him work with us.

Thank You Katie and Beau

This weekend Jeff and I had the opportunity to attend a Family Life Weekend to Remember marriage conference that was an early wedding gift from Katie and Beau. I was excited about it and Jeff had mixed emotions as many men do when it comes to that kind of thing. Friday night was great and very funny and Jeff and I were then both excited to be there. On Saturday morning I went to pick up Jeff to go to the conference and when I got there his trunk was not in the parking lot. We thought it had been stolen so he called the police who came out and filed a report. Jeff had left his checkbook in the truck so we then had to go to the bank to cancel his account. We thought his trunk was long gone at this point. What a scary feeling! While we were there, Jeff got a phonecall that they had found his trunk and that it had been impounded because it had been double parked!! Oh my gosh what a relief that was. Needless to say we missed the morning of the conference but were able to attend the afternoon and the next day. I think Jeff and I got a great picture of what God has designed us to be as husband and wife. It was great preparation for our future together. I really appreciate the gift from Katie and Beau. Even more so I really appreciate my great fiance for attending and learning. He is truly a wonderful man and I am so blessed to have him in my life.

On to a different note. I wanted to post a picture of my guest room that we just finished painting. I chose a gray color but am going to accent it with red and black. Let me know what you think.

Florida Vacation

This past week Jeff and I went to my friend, Lindsay's, wedding in St George, FL. On our way over there we stopped in Pensacola to visit Mary Grace, Mikey and Grady. We had a great time with them even though it was so brief. Grady is getting so big and so alert. It is really fun to see him smile to silly faces that you make at him! Jeff got to meet Grady for the first time and he thinks he is the cutest thing! >
We stayed with them for the night and then headed to the farm to visit dad and Charlotte. We had a nice visit with them and of course dad put us to work having us fix the fish feeder on the dock while he sat on the back porch with binoculars watching our every move! That man always has an ongoing list of chores for his children to do when they visit. He'll never change! We then got back in the car and headed out for our last stop on the trip, St George. We had a wonderful time visiting with our friends and enjoying the beach. Of course Lindsay had a 24 mile bike ride planned for us on Friday morning that was made even more difficult by 50 mph winds!>
< Christa and I couldn't finish and had to call for the men to retrieve us. Needless to say we were just a little sore. The day of the wedding was absolutely beautiful and Lindsay looked gorgeous. >
< The reception was alot of fun and we got to eat some yummy oysters and shrimp boil. It was so great to see our friends but the trip quickly came to an end and we had to leave early the next morning. The whole trip was worth all the driving that Jeff and I did. We are already wanting to go back! >

We've Finally Set A Date!

Well after much searching and discussion Jeff and I have finally found a location. It is absolutely gorgeous and will provide our guests with everything we wanted. It is on the lake in Austin and the ceremony has a great view. The sun will be setting in the background as well! The inside of the site has large rooms with high cielings and large windows overlooking the lake. We think our guests will enjoy the views there and get a good picture of why Jeff and I like living in Austin so much. Not too mention it has a hotel on site so our guests can just stay there. The website is vintagevillas.com. Go check it out!
We have decided on getting married on December 11,2009. We think that sounds like a good solid date! Let me know what you guys think.

Black Eyed Pea

The venues we looked out this weekend were beautiful. It definately made Jeff and I more aware of what we are looking for and what we think our guests will enjoy. Tomorrow we are going to look at The Allan House, www.theallanhouse.com. This weekend I am hopefully going to be able to look at the Winfield Inn, www.thewinfieldinn.com, and Vintage Villas, www.vintagevillas.com. Jeff can't go with me this weekend because he has baseball. Speaking of which he was playing in a tournament this weekend and got popped in the eye with a ball. It broke his skin and he had to go to the emergency room to get stitches. He likes to tell people that this is what I do to him when he misbehaves! He better watch out!

Tomorrow is a very exciting day. Erin, Mandy and I are going to see the first option for our wedding. It is called Villa Antonia and is set in the hills of Texas on the lake. It sounds like it makes for some stunning views! Take a look at it. The website is http://www.villaantonia.com/. The only appointment I could get is early in the morning and since tomorrow we lose an hour due to time change it may be a little rough. I am making us some yummy energy muffins to get us going!

On Monday we are going to take a look at the second option. It is called Kindred Oaks and has some really pretty trees on the land. The website is http://www.kindredoaks.com/.

I wanted to post some pics of our invites. Let me know what you think. I think we got a great deal on them and I really love them.

Welcome to the world of blogging

So to all you bloggers out there I have been convinced that this is the newest way to keep in touch so I am fighting all gut instincts and beginning to blog! AAGGHHH!! Please don't expect too much. Anyhow as you all know Jeff and I are planning our wedding so I figured this would be a great way to include you all in our decision planning, especially since I wish you could be here to help me. So far we have decided on an Austin wedding. Date to be determined when we find a location. My good friend Erin is my wedding planner and is amazing. She already has a notebook full of ideas and wedding stuff. Good thing she is here to help! this weekend we got our invitations. I will post a picture of them when I figure out how to do it! This weekend we are going to go to a couple of different venues so check back. I will post the websites too so you can take a look at them.
Well I hope you are all patient with me as I figure out this new technology! It can be quite a challenge for me.
